1). WHAT VIAGRA IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR:

VIAGRA belongs to the group of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors.

The medicine works by helping the blood vessels relax in the penis, increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual excitement. VIAGRA 50mg helps you get an erection only if you have previously been sexually stimulated. VIAGRA 50mg should not be used by patients with no erectile dysfunction. VIAGRA 50mg is not a medicine for women.

VIAGRA 50mg is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men, i.e. impotence defined as the inability to get or maintain a sufficient penile erection to have sex.

2). BEFORE YOU TAKE VIAGRA

Do not use VIAGRA:

If you are taking medicines called nitrates, as the combination may cause a dangerous fall in your blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines, these medicines are often used to relieve the symptoms of angina (chest pain "). Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

If you are taking medicines that release nitric oxide (e.g. amyl nitrate), because taking them together may also cause a dangerous fall in your blood pressure.

Allergic reaction (hypersensitivity) to the active substance or any of the ingredients of VIAGRA

Recent stroke or heart attack and in cases of low blood pressure

Hereditary retinal degenerative changes such as retinitis pigmentosa.

If you have ever been blind as a result of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.

Take special care with VIAGRA 50mg:

Inform your doctor about:

Sickle cell disease (red blood cell abnormality), leukemia (cancer of the blood), multiple myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow)

If you have an anatomical deformity of the penis or Peyronie's disease.

Ailments from the heart. In this case, the doctor should assess whether the condition of the heart muscle allows for additional effort associated with sexual activity.

Peptic ulcer disease or bleeding disorders (such as haemophilia).

If you experience sudden decrease in vision or sudden loss of vision, stop taking VIAGRA and contact your doctor immediately

VIAGRA 50mg should not be used concomitantly with other oral or topical treatments for erectile dysfunction

You should not use VIAGRA 50mg if you are taking medicines called nitrates, as the combination of these products may cause a dangerous fall in your blood pressure. Always tell your doctor if you are taking nitrates that are used to treat angina ('chest pain').

If you are taking medicines from the protease inhibitors group used to treat HIV infection, it is recommended that you start treatment with the lowest dose (25 mg) of VIAGRA.

Some patients who take alpha-blockers due to high blood pressure or prostatic hyperplasia may experience dizziness or lightheadedness which may be signs of orthostatic hypotension, such as a fall in blood pressure when standing or sitting up quickly. These symptoms have occurred in some patients taking VIAGRA and alpha blockers simultaneously. This is most likely to happen within 4 hours of taking VIAGRA. To reduce the risk of these symptoms, you should regularly take stable doses of your alpha-blocker before you start treatment with VIAGRA. Your doctor may decide to give you an initial dose of 25 mg of VIAGRA.
